Python Projects
- Title: Various Python Projects
- Description: The goal of these projects is to gain abilities in Python programming. Projects include Hangman; Rock, Paper, Scissors; and a Mosaic Creator. Projects were made utilizing PyCharm and Turtle. Please note that some of the code has been modified to work with Trinket's older version of Python for the embeds on this site.
- Skills: These projects demonstrate an intermediate knowledge of Python.

Bioinformatics Exercise
This project demonstrates knowledge of biological processes and if/else statements. The code takes a DNA sequence input, replaces the T's with U's, and outputs the RNA sequence. It then finds the start codon and begins outputting the associated amino acids until a stop codon is reached.
Hangman Game
This project demonstrates knowledge of if/else loops, while loops, variables, and random selection in Python. The computer chooses a random phrase, converts it to lower case, then asks the user for letters which get replaced into the phrase if correct. Incorrect letters increase tallies until the game ends.
Rock, Paper, Scissors Game
This project demonstrates knowledge of if/else loops, variables, and random selection in Python. The computer randomly selects between Rock, Paper, and Scissors and the user does the same. Points are tallied over 3 rounds to decide a winner.
Mosaic Creator
This project demonstrates knowledge of functions and Turtle. The user inputs an image path and the computer converts it to boxes, finds the R, G, B value at the center of each box, then draws a box in that color using Turtle. Shown below is a mosaic of my dog, Skyttles. This project is not very helpful unless you want to convert your images to lower quality, but was fun to make anyway. 😆
